Primer AbdominalWall Actinomycosis Mimicking Soft Tissue Tumor

Actinomyces infections are caused byActinomyces israelii. Primer actinomycosis of anterior abdominal wall is a rare disease. Soft tissue tumor of anterior abdominal wall is more common.A41- year- old female patient who had had an intrauterine contraceptive device for four years was admitted with abdominal mass and pain complaints. On physical examination, vital findings were normal, 5x8 cm mass was palpated on the periumblical area in the midline.We operate the patient whose abdominal CTresult is solid tissue tumor of abdominal wall. The mass was excised completely. Postoperative histopatholological examination revealed sulfur granules consistent with actinomycosis. The patient received intravenous penicilin-G for 30 days and followed by oral ampicillin for three months.
